Tournament Info

Overview

Bill Murray & Paul Sr.The Murray Bros. Caddyshack® Charity Golf Tournament is a two day event that combines parties, golf, and just plain fun as the Murray’s intended for it to be. Don’t expect a sit down dinner and a stuffy event at the country club because this event is like no other. Combine the antics of Bill Murray and the rest of the characters in the movie along with live music from celebrity friends, you get a pretty good idea of what this event is, all while raising money for the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. This all-inclusive event is perfect for the corporate outing, sales meeting, or just a plain guys get-away golf trip. Everything is included except the hotel and transportation to the once a year event. Played on the only Palmer/Nicklaus designed course, the Murray Bros. Caddyshack Charity Golf Tournament offers a first class course, first class food, and a first class good time.

A Family Tradition

Growing up in the Chicago suburb of Wilmette, Illinois, the Murray brothers had no idea what their childhood trials and tribulations would lead to. With six brothers, three sisters, two parents and a small Cape Cod-style house, everyone was expected to contribute. The oldest Murray brothers – Ed, Brian and Bill – were first lured to the links as caddies to earn Catholic school tuition. Their younger brothers – Andy, John and Joel – later followed in the family tradition. All told, the Murray brothers' crash course in golf course work included crashing carts, crashing parties, and jobs as locker room attendant, greenskeeper, bus boy and waiter.

Their musing and mischief inspired the movie Caddyshack, co-written by Brian Doyle-Murray and described by brother Bill as “the gripping tale of the Murray brothers 'first experiments with employment.'

The brothers' love for the game lives on. Like golf itself, being Murray requires the right state of mind, synergistic surroundings and plentiful refreshment. That's the inspiration behind Murray Bros. Caddyshack® Restuarant and the golf tournament. “An extension of our living room” as the Murray’s like to describe it…
